Troubleshooting

1.         Alice will not perform a shutdown after Internet Inquiry has been installed
Incompatible versions of Alice and Internet Inquiry services have been installed. Ensure that the most recent versions of both are being used.

2.                   Internet Inquiry Service will not start.
Check that the Registration details entered in AfW Internet inquiry in Control panel are EXACTLY correct. The validity of the registration is not checked during installation but the services will not start if the registration details are wrong.

3.                   Internet Inquiry only works when the fileserver is logged on.

The user SYSTEM has not been granted full access to the Alice directory. When the fileserver is not logged on locally, the Internet Inquiry Service accesses Alice using the user SYSTEM. If SYSTEM does not have rights to Alice, Internet Inquiry will not work.

A Mapped drive letter has been specified for the location of Alice. Mapped drive letters only exist when the fileserver is logged on and hence Alice will be inaccessible. Use an absolute path to point to the location of Alice files, e.g. C:\ALICE\OASIS

4.                   The Internet Inquiry Web Page displays but searching is not available.
The Internet Inquiry service is not running. Check that it is running using the icons in Control Panel.
